A rather different Nick Clegg interview

Nick Clegg was recently interviewed for BBC News School Report by young people from Banbury School. They asked him a range of penetrating questions covering politics, children, currency and his top team.

  1. Why didn't he answer the first question properly. The LibDems must be surely harder to look after.

  2. Generally very solid answers there, I can't fault anything he said.

I'm not 100% convinced about his style though. Talking to kids about politics is one of the things all politicians have to do, and very few of them get it completely right. Nick did a lot better than most, and didn't come across as patronising or remote, but he still didn't seem completely natural or comfortable, or able to just relax and chat to them on a level. The jokes when he walked in and when he said goodbye seemed quite forced.
